About Telltime
At Telltime, our goal is to make the moment the focal point of our watches—because the true value of time matters deeply to us. Unlike classic word clocks with rigid LED matrices, we create an innovative “word cloud” clock that displays time through vivid phrases. Much like life’s most beautiful moments: times spent in good company or precious periods of rest, pause, and relaxation. We transform time into lasting value—right in the heart of Matzendorf, Solothurn, where genuine craftsmanship meets modern technology in our small Swiss workshop.
How it started
Our Story
Why count seconds when we can live in the moment? It all started with a family challenge. When my daughter saw a word clock and remarked that something like that would be incredibly difficult to build, I spontaneously replied: “It’s actually quite simple; I’ll just knock one together over Christmas.” Naturally, no one believed me. Spurred on by this skepticism, I designed the first prototype and 3D-printed it. The result captivated not only my daughter but soon after, friends, family, and colleagues as well. The enthusiasm was so great that a Christmas wager evolved into a genuine vision. Today, I am no longer on this journey alone: together with close friends, we are building Telltime into a startup. To bring our idea into mass production, we have established a strong network of diverse partners across Switzerland.
